Aalberts strengthens position through acquisition in the UK

Aalberts Industries N.V., with activities in the areas of Industrial Services and Flow Control, is acquiring all the shares of Doncaster (UK) based Pegler Holdings Limited. This acquisition strengthens the Aalberts Industries’ position with additional products in, among others, the UK market.

With more than 500 employees and a turnover of more than EUR 70 million, Pegler is one of the main players in the UK market for thermostatic radiator valves. It also has a comprehensive range of other Flow Control products in its portfolio, including valves and sanitary fittings for the public sector.

The Pegler’s dual strategy focuses on the retention of its current market position by launching new products (new products developed in the past five years account for half its turnover) and expansion into new markets, notably in Western and Eastern Europe. Through collaboration with the other Flow Control companies within the Aalberts Industries Group, Pegler will be able to implement this strategy more rapidly and more successfully. Pegler’s products will be integrated into the European distribution network of Aalberts Industries.

The acquisition of Pegler means that Aalberts Industries is significantly expanding its product portfolio and will have available to it a second strong brand name in the UK alongside Yorkshire Fittings.

Pegler will be working closely with the Yorkshire Fittings Group, which has been part of the Aalberts Industries Group for some time. This collaboration will focus on taking advantage of distribution networks, both at home and abroad, purchasing and new product development. The current management will continue to be associated with the company.

The acquisition will have a positive effect on the further organic growth of Aalberts Industries Flow Control.
