Aalberts increases stake in Hauck subsidiary and Meibes

Aalberts Industries has increased its stake in the Frankfurt-based heat treatment firm Härterei Hauck Rhein-Main GmbH, from 60% to 90%.

During the first half of 2002, Härterei Hauck Rhein-Main will be implementing a substantial investment programme to satisfy the sharp rise in demand for the heat treatment of driving rods for passenger cars. Härterei Hauck Rhein-Main has for many years specialised in improving these driving rods and has now built up a unique position in the European automotive market. The investments will not only meet the company’s short-term requirements but will also exploit the growing trend which is forecast over the next few years.

Aalberts Industries is also increasing its stake in Meibes System-Technik GmbH to 76%. Meibes, in which Aalberts Industries already holds a 51% stake, specialises in regulatory and measurement systems for heating.

The expansion is part of the accelerated integration of the Meibes organisation within the Broen Group, which was prompted by the combination of sales activities in Eastern Europe.
